A modular kitchen refers to modern kitchen furniture that has been constructed in modules or units…

A modular kitchen is usually a combination of wall units and base units. Modular kitchens are designed to maximize utility and allow for efficient space management, especially for the smaller spaces.

The size as well as the layout of the kitchen, whether U-shaped, L-shaped, parallel or straight, is directly proportional to the price of the kitchen. Although larger kitchens will require a higher number of modules, they often come at a high price. The usage of the kitchen determines the modules that need to be incorporated. For example, a full-time baker would require an average-sized modular kitchen design and would make use of all the modules. A frequent traveller, on the other hand would go for the bare essentials in his modular kitchen design. Thus, the number and type of modules can vary significantly from one home to another, depending on the usage.

Before explaining anything about HDHMR, one should know the true meaning of this word. HDHMR stands for High Density High Moisture Resistance. It is basically an upgraded term of plywood, used to develop tough and robust wooden usage. Explaining the definition, HDHMR board is made by combining fiber chips, forest wood waste through a homogeneously construction process. These fiber chips are pressed together to form a single layer, removing small wood content to form a robust higher density board. These boards are mainly used where moisture and mould wooden boards are required like kitchen shutters, packing industry furniture, outdoor fixture, etc.

There are six basic types of kitchen layouts: Island, Parallel, Straight, L-Shape, U- Shape, Open, and Galley. The L-Shaped kitchen is most suited to homes that do not need too much worktop spaces while the galley shaped kitchen is suitable for small homes. Here are the six basic types of kitchen shapes you can choose from before finalising that master kitchen interior plan! Choose wisely; this is going to be the heart of your home for many years to come. Modular kitchens are created from core materials that are very durable and resistant to borers or termites. The core material is usually made of HDHMR that is boiling water-resistant and does not bend or warp over a long period of time. Natural wood, on the other hand, tends to deteriorate over time if it is not treated well.

There are many standard designs are available but we also provide customize designs as per client requirements.

Indian kitchens are home to a number of fast paced activities making it the busiest place in the home. In our busy schedules when we are running around to get the things done we long for speed and convenience, and that convenience is being provided to us today through the invention of modular kitchens. If we look at the trend today, we can observe that modular kitchens are slowly taking over all over India. Modular kitchens offer you the luxury of convenience and along with that also help you to add a certain style quotient to your house. We see today that modular kitchens have redefined modern homes. Modular kitchens definitely make your work a whole lot easier, but it might be a task to maintain a modular kitchen. Since a modular kitchen is more expensive than a regular one, you want it to last longer owing to the increased expenditure.

Kitchens can be broadly categorised into factory-made modular kitchens and carpenter-made conventional kitchens. Since both these kitchens come with their own pros and cons, there are debates and questions on which option is better and why. Although modular kitchens are in high demand, make it a point to check for ease of use, efficiency and maintenance required in both these kitchens before you make a choice.

Modular kitchen

  • A modular kitchen is manufactured in factories in the form of ready-to-install modules that are easy to transport and assemble at site.
  • These kitchens are a combination of tall units, wall storage units,
overhead cabinets, drawers and shelves, including space for built-in appliances and so on.
  • The kitchen modules are flexible and can be assembled to fit pretty much any design you like, such as L-shaped, U-shaped, parallel and gallery kitchens.

Carpenter-made kitchen

  • These kitchen are constructed by carpenters as per the requirements of the homeowner. The best part of carpenter-made kitchens is that traditional panelling, mouldings and cornices can be incorporated within the design of the kitchen, as in the image above.
  • The entire job can be handed over to the contractor on a turnkey basis or the homeowner can purchase the raw materials and get the work done on a labour-contract basis.
